Can you beat this logic?

Can you beat this logic?

A man and his wife were getting a divorce at a local court.
But the custody of their children posed a problem.

The mother jumped to her feet and protested to the judge that since she had brought the children into this world, she should retain custody of them.

The man also wanted custody of his children.

The judge asked for his side of the story too.

After a long moment of silence, the man rose from the chair and replied:
"Judge, when I put a dollar into a vending machine, and a Pepsi comes out, does the Pepsi belong to me or to the machine?"

Don't laugh, but the man won!

The Meaning of "FAMILY"

The Meaning of "FAMILY"

This is really meaningful and worth spending a minute!!!
I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
"Oh excuse me please" was my reply.
He said, "Please excuse me, too; I wasn't
really watching for you."

We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said good-bye.
But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.
Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.
When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
"Move out of the way," I said with a frown.
He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.
While I lay awake that night in bed, God's still
small voice came to me and said,
"While dealing with a stranger, common courtesy you use,
But the children you love, you seem to abuse.
Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.
Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.
He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
You never saw the tears that filled his little eyes."

By this time, I was feeling very small,
And then my tears began to fall.
I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
"Wake up, little one, wake up," I said.
"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"
He smiled, "I found 'em, out by the tree.
I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue."
I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way."
He said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay. I love you anyway."
I said, "Son, I love you too, and I do like the flowers,
especially the blue."

Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company
that we are working for could easily replace us in a
matter of days.
But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of
their lives.
And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more
into work than into our own family ----an unwise investment indeed,
don't you think?
So what is behind this story?
Do you know what the word FAMILY means?
FAMILY= (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER, (I) I (L)OVE (Y)OU!
Pass this on to everyone that you care about.
I just did!

The Emperor's seeds

The Emperor's Seeds

An emperor in the Far East was growing old and knew it was time to choose his successor. Instead of choosing one of his assistants or his children, he decided something different. He called young people in the kingdom together one day.
He said, "It is time for me to step down and choose the next emperor. I have decided to choose one of you."

The kids were shocked! But the emperor continued. "I am going to give each one of you a seed today. One very special seed. I want you to plant the seed, water it and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from this one seed. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next emperor!"

One boy named Ling was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly told his mother the story. She helped him get a pot and planting soil, and he planted the seed and watered it carefully. Every day he would water it and watch to see if it had grown.

After about three weeks, some of the other youths began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow.

Ling kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew. Three weeks, 4 weeks, 5 weeks went by. Still nothing. By now, others were talking about their plants but Ling didn't have a plant, and he felt like a failure. Six months went by-still nothing in Ling's pot. He just knew he had killed his seed.

Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing. Ling didn't say anything to his friends, however. He just kept waiting for his seed to grow. A year finally went by and all the youths of the kingdom brought their plants to the emperor for inspection. Ling told his mother that he wasn't going to take an empty pot. But honest about what happened, Ling felt sick to his stomach, but he knew his mother was right. He took his empty pot to the palace.

When Ling arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other youths. They were beautiful-in all shapes and sizes. Ling put his empty pot on the floor and many of the other kinds laughed at him.

A few felt sorry for him and just said, "Hey nice try.” When the emperor arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted the young people. Ling just tried to hide in the back. "My, what great plants, trees and flowers you have grown," said the emperor. "Today, one of you will be appointed the next emperor!"

All of a sudden, the emperor spotted Ling at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered his guards to bring him to the front. Ling was terrified. "The emperor knows I'm a failure!
Maybe he will have me killed!" When Ling got to the front, the Emperor asked his name.
"My name is Ling," he replied. All the kids were laughing and making fun of him. The emperor asked everyone to quiet down. He looked at Ling, and then announced to the crowd, "Behold your new emperor! His name is Ling!"

Ling couldn't believe it. Ling couldn't even grow his seed. How could he be the new emperor? Then the emperor said, "One year ago today, I gave everyone here a seed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds which would not grow. All of you, except Ling, have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Ling was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new emperor!"

If you plant honesty, You will reap trust

If you plant goodness, You will reap friends

If you plant humility, You will reap greatness

If you plant perseverance, You will reap victory

If you plant consideration, You will reap harmony

If you plant hard work, You will reap success

If you plant forgiveness, You will reap reconciliation

If you plant openness, You will reap intimacy

If you plant patience, You will reap improvements

If you plant faith, You will reap miracles

But

If you plant dishonesty, You will reap distrust.

If you plant selfishness, You will reap loneliness

If you plant pride, You will reap destruction

If you plant envy, You will reap trouble

If you plant laziness, You will reap stagnation.

If you plant bitterness, You will reap isolation

If you plant greed, You will reap loss

If you plant gossip, You will reap enemies

If you plant worries, You will reap wrinkles

If you plant sin, You will reap guilt

So be careful what you plant now, It will determine what you will reap tomorrow. The seeds you now scatter, Will make life worse or better your life or the ones who will come after.

Yes, someday, you will enjoy the fruits, Or you will pay for the choices you plant today.

Money and the death

Money and the death

A dying man gathered his lawyer, doctor and clergyman at his bedside and handed each of them an envelope containing $25,000 in cash.

He made them each promise that after his death and during his repose, they would place the three envelopes in his coffin. He told them that he wanted to have enough money to enjoy the next life.

A week later the man died. At the wake, the lawyer and doctor and clergyman, each concealed an envelope in the coffin and bid their old client and friend farewell.

By chance, these three met several months Soon the clergyman, feeling guilty, blurted out a confession saying that there was only $10,000 in the envelope he placed in the coffin. He felt, rather than waste all the money, he would send it to a mission in South America. He asked for their forgiveness.

The doctor, moved by the gentle clergyman's sincerity, confessed that he, too, had kept some of the money for a new x-ray machine at his hospital. The envelope, he admitted, had only $8,000 in it. He said, he too could not bring himself to waste the money so frivolously when it could be used to benefit others.

By this time the lawyer was seething with self-righteous outrage. He expressed his deep disappointment in the felonious behavior of two of his oldest and most trusted friends. "I am the only one who kept his promise to our dying friend. I want you both to know that the envelope I placed in the coffin contained the full amount. Indeed, my envelope contained my personal check for the entire $25,000!!??

More way than will

More way than will

A woman offered a brand-new car for sale for a price of ten dollars.

A man answered the ad, but he was slightly skeptical.

"What's the gimmick?" he inquired.

"No gimmick," the woman answered.

"My husband died, and in his will he asked that the car be sold and the money go to his secretary."

Be Thankful For What You Have!!

Be Thankful For What You Have!!

Should you find something on your dinner plate that
doesn't appeal to you, don't complain.
There are people who don't have anything on their plate.

Should you find yourself stuck in traffic, don't despair,
There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.

Should you have a bad day at work,
think of the man who has been out of work for years.

Should you despair over a relationship gone bad,
think of the person who has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.

Should you grieve the passing of another weekend,
think of the woman in dire straits,
working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.

Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance,
think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.

Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror,
think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.

Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about,
asking what is my purpose?
Be thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.

Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness,
ignorance,smallness or insecurities,
remember, things could be worse. You could be them!

A Smart Mother

John invited his mother over for dinner.
During the meal, his mother couldn't help noticing how beautiful John's roommate Julie was.
She had long been suspicious of a relationship between John and his roommate, and this only made her more curious.

Over the course of the evening, while watching the two interact, she started to wonder if there was more between John and the roommate than met the eye.
Reading his mom's thoughts, John volunteered,
"I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you, Julie and I are just roommates."

About a week later, Julie came to John and said,
"Ever since your mother came to dinner, I can't find the beautiful silver gravy ladle. You don't suppose she took it, do you?"

John said, "Well, I doubt it, but I'll write her a letter just to be sure."

So he sat down and wrote: "Dear Mother, I'm not saying you 'did' take a gravy ladle from my house, and I'm not saying you 'did not' take a gravy ladle. But the fact remains that one has been missing ever since you were here for dinner. Love, John"

Several days later, John received a letter from his mother which read:

"Dear Son, I'm not saying that you 'do' sleep with Julie, and I'm not saying that you 'do not' sleep with Julie. But the fact remains that if she were sleeping in her own bed, she would have found the gravy ladle by now. Love, Mom"

A candle nothing loses by lighting another candle

Hi,

This is a very heart warming short story and it would be good if all of us could cultivate....

A few years ago, at the Seattle Special Olympics, 9 contestants all physically or mentally disabled, assembled at the starting line for 100-yard dash.
At the gun, they all started out, not exactly in a dash, but with a relish to run the race to the finish & win. All, that is, except one little boy who stumbled on the asphalt, tumbled over a couple of times, and began to cry.

The other 8 heard the boy cry. They slowed down & looked back. Then they all turned around & went back..... every one of them.
One girl with Down's syndrome bent down & kissed him &  said, "This will make it better." Then all 9 linked arms &  walked together to the finish line.

Everyone in the stadium stood, the cheering went on for several minutes. People who were there are still telling the story. Why? Because deep down we know this one thing:
What matters in this life is more than winning for ourselves.
What matters in this life ... is helping others win, even if it means slowing down &  changing our course.

If you pass this on,  we may be able to change our hearts as well as someone else's...................................

"A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle"

Just for fun

A Boy : I love your daughter since 5 months.

Father  : How can you prove it?!

A Boy  : wait for 4 month... you will believe yourself.
